Co-operatives North West
Re-Launch and Annual General Meeting
Friday 1 February 2008, 12 - 4.15pm
Jo organised a great event with 70 people attending in New Century House, Manchester. Participants were from across the North West region and from all sectors of the co-operative economy. Co-operatives are united by their commitment to co-op values and principles, such as democratic member control. The unique opportunities and challenges presented were explored at this event. Key note speakers included Pauline Green, Co-operatives UK and Moira Lees, the Co-operative Group. Panellists were Lawrence Beedle, Unicorn Grocery; Jacqui Forster, Supporters Direct; Steve Hassall, Salford Community Leisure; and Brian O'Hare, Huyton Housing Co-op for the Elderly. Workshops were delivered on Co-op Funding, Networking, and Leadership & Governance.
Gareth Nash, Chair of Co-operatives North West said "I enjoyed Friday's event very much. Thank you all for your input on the day (particularly Jo) and throughout the year."
